How Our Fees Work: Clear, Transparent and Tailored to You

We’re often asked about fees early on, which is completely understandable. The reality is that quality financial advice isn’t one‑size‑fits‑all, and the cost depends on the scope and complexity of your situation. Our process is designed to ensure that you only pay for advice that is relevant, valuable and appropriate for you.

Here’s how it works:

Discovery Call – Complimentary

  • Duration: 30 minutes 

  • Cost: No charge 

This first conversation is simply about understanding where you’re at.

We’ll ask high‑level questions about your circumstances, what prompted you to reach out, and what you’re hoping to achieve. This allows us to determine whether we’re well placed to add value and whether it makes sense to take the conversation further.

There is no cost and no obligation. If we don’t believe we can help, we’ll tell you upfront.

Your Vision Meeting – Complimentary

This is where we go deeper.

During this meeting, we explore:

  • Your goals and priorities (short, medium and long term)

  • What’s important to you and why

  • Your current financial position and structure

  • Any concerns or questions you’d like clarity on

This meeting forms the foundation of your personalised financial roadmap and allows us to clearly define the scope of advice required.

Once we understand:

  • where you are now,

  • where you’d like to be, and

  • the complexity of advice needed,

we then prepare a customised Engagement Proposal outlining:

  • the upfront fee (one‑off advice and strategy work), and

  • any ongoing fees

Fee guidance (for transparency)

While we can’t provide an exact fee until we understand the scope of advice, as a guide:

  • Upfront advice fees generally start from $4,400

  • Ongoing advice fees generally start from $400 per month (generally the equivalent of around 0.5% to 1.0% of funds under advice)

Where appropriate:

  • Fees may be tax‑deductible

  • Fees may be paid from superannuation, where permitted, to maximise tax effectiveness

All fees are agreed with you in advance before any work begins.

Strategy Meeting – Clarity Before Commitment

Once you’ve reviewed and accepted the Engagement Proposal, we complete in‑depth research tailored to you.

In this meeting, we will:

  • Present the outcomes of our research

  • Compare your current products and structures with alternatives (where relevant)

  • Provide indicative quotes (if applicable)

  • Model different strategies and financial projections

We also take the time to educate you, clearly explaining:

  • the advantages and disadvantages of each strategy

  • the role of different products

  • key trade‑offs and risks

This is often where clients start getting real answers to questions like:

  • When could I realistically retire?

  • How much could I retire on?

  • Can we afford to upgrade our home?

  • Can we fund private schooling or help our children financially?

We then get your feedback and refine the strategy so it aligns with:

  • what you’re comfortable with, and

  • what matters most to you.

Advice Preparation & Implementation

Once the strategy is agreed:

  • We prepare your formal written advice

  • Clearly document recommendations and reasoning

  • Assist with implementing all agreed actions (product set‑ups, changes, paperwork, coordination with other professionals as needed)

We guide you through each step so you’re never left wondering what’s happening or why.

Ongoing Support 

Most of clients choose and benefit significantly from ongoing advice. We provide continued support to ensure your strategy remains aligned with your life as it evolves.

This includes:

  • Regular reviews and strategy updates

  • Adjustments as your goals, circumstances or risk profile change

  • Ensuring relevant legislative and regulatory changes are considered

  • Monitoring progress against your personalised benchmarks

  • Making proactive changes to keep you on track

Regular Reviews and Updates: We conduct regular reviews of your financial plan to ensure it continues to meet your goals and objectives. This includes assessing your investment performance, adjusting strategies as needed, and keeping you informed of any changes in the financial landscape.

Strategy Adjustments: As your life evolves, so too should your financial strategy. We adjust your financial plan to account for major life events such as career changes, family additions, or shifts in market conditions, ensuring your plan remains relevant and effective. 

Investment Management: We provide continuous management of your investment portfolio, making adjustments to asset allocation and investment choices to align with your risk tolerance and financial goals. Our aim is to maximise returns while managing risk appropriately. 

Tax Effective Strategies: We offer strategies to help manage your tax effectively, ensuring that you keep more of your hard-earned money.  

Estate Planning Support: We assist in planning for the transfer of your assets to the next generation, ensuring that your estate plan is up-to-date and aligned with your wishes. This may include referring you to a Solicitor or helping facilitate the estate planning process in conjunction with your Solicitor. 

Retirement Planning: We continually refine your retirement plan to ensure you are on track to achieve a comfortable and secure retirement. This includes monitoring your retirement savings, adjusting contributions, and projecting future income needs. 

Risk Management: We regularly review your personal insurance coverage to ensure that you and your family are adequately protected against unforeseen events. This includes life, total & permanent disability, trauma and income protection.

Cashflow and Budget Management: We help you maintain a healthy cashflow and budget, providing tools and advice to manage your expenses and savings effectively. 

Access to Expert Advice: You have ongoing access to our team of financial experts for any questions or concerns that may arise. We are here to provide guidance and support whenever you need it.

Many years ago in 2001, thanks to a nudge from our daughter-in-law, we first connected with WB Financial (now Your Vision Financial Solutions). Our initial impression of the team and our original adviser, Graham, was overwhelmingly positive. At that stage in our lives, we were looking ahead to retirement and facing the prospect of redundancy, so we wanted expert advice on what to do and how to set-up ourselves for the future.

We subsequently met Patricia in 2010 when she joined the team, and she became our financial adviser a few years later. Patricia has always had a knack for breaking down complex financial concepts, which made it clear to us we were in capable hands.
